What's the job outlook?

The demand for computer support specialists is expected to increase faster than the average for all occupations through 2012.* As companies of all sizes become highly automated places, qualified computer support professionals become more marketable than ever.. Employers in today's job market are seeking educated candidates who have up-to-date computer training and the ability to keep pace with evolving technologies.

What will I do with my education?

Graduates of Heald's Computer Support program pursue rewarding careers in a variety of positions, including Computer Support Specialist, Computer Systems Technician, Help Desk Technician, and Desktop Support Technician. They are also prepared to pursue the following technical certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+, Security+, Microsoft® Certified Professional (MCP), and Microsoft® Certified Desktop Support Technician.

As a Computer Support Specialist, you will provide assistance, advice, or training to help computer users overcome hardware, software, web, or other technological problems. Your job responsibilities would likely include assisting with the installation and configuration of new equipment and software. You might also be tasked with conducting the day-to-day maintenance of computer systems and networks. No matter what position you hold, your Heald degree will help prepare you for great success in the computer support field.
